Nutritional Counseling
You will be given a structured
diet and be asked to visit with
Lauren
Wagner, RD at least 6 times a year to ensure successful weight loss. You must be prepared to modify
your diet. Nutritional counseling may not be covered by your insurance
company and you will be responsible for all out of pocket costs during
enrollment in this program. Payment will be required at the time services
are rendered. We will work closely with you to help you achieve your weight
loss goal, but self-discipline in the home environment will be the key.
Be positive, stay focused, learn control and YOU will succeed.
Protein Bars

Have 4-5 grams of net sugar
carbs and come in a variety of flavors. They are triple layered bars with
no trans fat and up to 30 grams of protein in just one bar. These bars are
made with a designer whey protein blend and taste great. They are the
perfect meal replacement. If you find yourself on the run, just have one of
these on hand.
We have flavors like peanut
caramel, peanut butter, white chocolate and s'mores. These bars sell for
$2.50 each and you can purchase them right from our office.
Protein Drinks

These drinks are a combination
of filtered water, ion exchange whey protein isolate, and other natural and
artificial flavors that give you instant ignition. This is the perfect
drink for anyone who wants to lose weight. It's also perfect for post-op
Lap-Band patients. Our flavors include watermelon,
tangerine, and tropical punch. Drink them any time of the day! We have
them available for just $3.00 a bottle.
Protein drinks can be in clear liquid
form or powder form which can be used every day. Lacking protein in your
daily diet will result in loss of muscle mass and hair. You must get enough
protein in your diet. Speak with your dietitian to determine exactly how
much protein daily is right for you.
Phentermine Pills
Are a prescription strength
weight loss medication which can be obtained from our office if you are not
a candidate for Lap-Band surgery, but are considered at least overweight on
the BMI chart. Phentermine is a central nervous system stimulant and
appetite suppressant that works well when combined with proper diet and
exercise. This medication is taken at least 30 minutes before lunch and
should control your appetite throughout the remainder of the day.
Phentermine is one of the top 3
weight loss medications available today. It was first used in 1959 with
fenfluramines however, studies showed that fenfluramines had a possible link
to heart valve problems and since then, Phentermine has been used alone.
The most common side effects
are:
- rapid heart rate
- hypertension
- insomnia
- constipation
- headache
- dry mouth
Some
patients have reported sexual dysfunction. Phentermine is not for
everyone - if you have a history of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure,
hyperthyroidism and severe nervousness you should not take Phentermine as it may
increase the symptoms of your current medical condition. If you have a
drug abuse problem, you should not take Phentermine and if you are currently
taking an MAOI you should not use Phentermine. You must consult with your
physician and Dr. Patel before taking this medication.
